- Do I need to have any experience in painting, Qigong, Tai Chi or journaling to enjoy myself? No experience is necessary! We don't assume any prior knowledge, and will be demonstrating everything you need to know. If you already have a creative/meditative/Qigong/yoga practice, you will also benefit by taking the time to focus on, and expand your practice, in a supportive surrounding.
- How much does the retreat cost? There are two separate costs: 1. Retreat fees for the week are $450 2. Your 5 night stay at at Mar de Jade Resort (including 3 meals a day) will cost between $600 - $970 depending on room type and whether double or quad occupancy.
- When are the retreat payments due? $225 per person is due upon registration. Any remaining balance will be due on September 1, 2020.
- Where is the retreat? The retreat is at the Mar de Jade Resort in Chacala, Nayarit, Mexico, on the Pacific Coast. You will book your room directly through Mar de Jade, which includes 3 fresh buffet meals each day.
- What's the closest airport to Mar de Jade? Puerta Vallarta airport. It is approximately a 90 minute taxi ride to Mar de Jade.
- How do I get from the Puerta Vallarta airport to Mar de Jade? Please arrange your transportation with Mar de Jade. It is approximately a 90 minute ride to Mar de Jade.
- My friend/husband/sister wants to come to the resort but doesn't want to participate in the retreat. Is this possible? Yes, bring them along! They'll also receive our group rates for accommodations if sharing a room with a person who has paid for the retreat.
- I'd like to share accommodations to lower costs, but I'm coming by myself. Can you help? Yes! We can assist with those interested in sharing accommodations to lower costs. Please email us to let us know if you are interested in finding a roommate.
- What will I need to bring? Travel light! Casual clothes that you can move in, suntan lotion, bathing suit, bug spray (for the no-see-ums on the beach at dawn and dusk), art supplies (an art supply list will be sent to you upon registration). Try to do carry-on: baggage pick-up at the airport can be overwhelming! Most places take U.S. dollars, but you might want to pick up some Mexican pesos in case you want to go shopping on market day and do some haggling!
- What's the refund policy for the retreat and for accommodations?
- The same refund policy applies to both to Mar de Jade and to the Retreat:
- at least 60 days prior to scheduled arrival date - guests are entitled to a refund of deposit paid less 10% of the TOTAL cost due
- 59 days to 15 days prior to scheduled arrival date - guests are entitled to a refund of deposit paid less 25% of the TOTAL STAY
- 14 days or less prior to scheduled arrival date - no refunds

- Will art supplies be included? Each participant will need to bring some basic materials. An art supply list will be sent upon registration.
- Is Mar de Jade accessible for people with mobility issues? Mar de Jade is not fully handicapped accessible as there are areas on the property where steps are unavoidable. However, it is possible to access most public areas and a few ground floor rooms via ramps. Please contact us to discuss your particular needs
